My opposition to the death penalty is principled, so no.

Sure

I have no problem with the death penalty really. People die and are killed all the time, lots of people have done things where they legitimately deserve to die.

the only problem with the death penalty is the fact that innocent people can, and have been put to death. That fact alone means it should not be used.

Ive always thought there should be something more than guilty. Not guilty, most likely guilty, and 100% guilty. Im talking video of the crime, fingerprints, a confession that is like haha I cant believe thats me, Dave, killing this person!

if that was the case then sure, death penalty them all you want I dont care

Not the person you asked, but the state has no right to impose a punishment it can't reverse.

If it can be proven in a court of law that they are guilty of capital murder, and a higher burden of proof imposed for sentencing to be tantamount to capital punishment, namely, clear and convincing, then I don't see why the suspect has any right or reason to live.

There is no justice possible when the state executes helpless captives.

No death penalty.

No exceptions.

I see no value in these hypotheticals. The standard right now is (or should be) 'no doubt they committed the crimes'. And still innocent people are put to death by the state.

No.

The only case where I might understand the death penalty is if an incarcerated person serving multiple life sentences without the possibility of parole kills another person in jail. Adding another life sentence is really meaningless in that circumstance and is zero deterrent.

But overall, still no.

Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less.
