7r was absolutely final fantasy. Hell even 15 had tons of final fantasy themes, just modernized

Ive seen a lot of valid criticism of the game, but dead and uninteresting world? No way. Theres so much going on with all the different factions vying for power, theres rich history everywhere you go, the world feels very alive and the actions of the characters have an impact on it all.

Its not a perfect game by any means, but the world building is definitely something they nailed.

the world building is all tell and zero show. the concept is fine but the execution stinks. that's why the world feels dead.

Game is fantastic to me, anything but boring. I'm just heavily invested in the story, and the gameplay finally matches the kind of action choreography they've been putting in the franchise's cutscenes for a long time now.

That said, sometimes I wonder what kind of game I'm playing when the action gets a little too insane, lol. I just finished the Bahamut fight and it felt like a DBZ game.
