Christopher Tolkien died in 2020. The new holder of the IP rights is less restrictive than he was.

All I want are games based on the books ffs.

The Fellowship of the Ring game from 2002 is pretty good (despite some faults) and Ive always been bummed that they never continued.

But, really, there is SO much potential for good book-based games. And since theyd be games instead of movies or shows, there wouldnt need to be any story cuts due to time restrictions.

That reminds me of when I found out those Witcher games were based on books.

I thought the gollum game was related to hogwarts legacy and only now did I finally snap out of the brain fart that they're 2 different series and I was thinking of dobby, not gollum.
