Pumped to play the first one after I beat 2 even if its all janky (unsubstantiated, but usually a sequel does the systems and mechanics better at the cost of the identity of the game I find) I played enemy unknown before 2 but never played enemy within. I know it's basically the same just been years since I played unknown so wasn't sure if it held up. Played through 2 like a dozen times I think that it goes like this: Enemy within > war of the chosen > XCOM 2 > enemy unknown. Unknown is kinda rough comparatively in terms of scaling early on, and a lot of abilities are just useless. Xcom2 has some objectively better choices to make so it has a ton of gotchas.
