I had very few AIM friends back in the day that weren't from the US or Canada, and even in niche communities like emo and record collecting communities - there'd maybe be like 1 or 2 random Germans or something. Also, even though I watch a ton of New Zealander and British Youtubers -- I don't really go in the comment sections or directly interact with anybody.

Tik Tok has really opened my eyes to how classist and xenophobic Europeans get when talking about food - and how little Europeans know actually know about food and food science. It's really upsetting -- and if people think Americans are self-important and arrogant, wooo wait until they meet an Italian online. They were the OG Imperialists and self-proclaimed main characters.
