Been ages since I went through this. In retrospect, I probably played through ME2 more than ME1, but still might prefer that predecessor (even as it shows its age). Not looking forward to losing infinite ammo and needing clips, but I guess it was too good to last. I forget if I did all the DLC back in the day, so that might be an unexpected bonus. Dunno how they handled the DLC visors and all that jank, though.

As before, I played as a ruthless badass (renegade) Shepard. Looking forward to some old friends, although with Zaeed here, I might swap him in for Garrus.

Might've been a vorcha. Dude looks like he was smacked with the ugly stick...and the stick had nails in it.

I wonder if future ME games will have vorcha and batarian comrades in there. Not that I especially like them or anything, but it might be time to give them a shot at being more than fodder for my bullets. At the very least, they'd be better than that one weird alien dude they added in Andromeda. I think his special power was being really sensitive or something.

I didn't do Bring Down the Sky in ME1 'cause it was always boring, IIRC, so I missed our Batarian friends. They do tend to be pretty, uh, criminal-minded, though. Well, I guess there was that sick one in the plague zone...he has to count as one of the good ones...maybe...

Okay, got Mordin and Garrus so far. Gonna get Wrex next, right after I get that Miranda upgrade for enhanced probing or whatever. Replaying ME2, you really start to hate needing to manage fuel levels and probe amounts. Oh, and Shepard still sprints full bore with the stamina of a 120-year-old. Derp.

Guess I'll use Grunt and Zaeed. I could've sworn I got Wrex here, but maybe that was ME3. Or maybe I forgot entirely and was thinking of some loyalty mission somewhere. Dude gets a mean shotgun and lots of health, so it'll be nice for a little variety.

ME3 Spoilers: Wrex is a squad member for the Citadel DLC.

I forget if I did that one or not. I'll definitely do it during this run.

That's Samara's power, right? I think I used that a lot back in the day, but as a soldier, I'd prefer to have Zaeed's molotov grenade or whatever it's called. Bullets save the galaxy, not weird alien powers.

Reave then unload with ammo powers. Saves so much ammo and breaks the repetitiveness of shooting so much. Grenades have pretty bad throwing range and time before they explode. Reave is instant and continue shooting. And also after a reave you can always do an adrenaline rush as well.

It's been awhile since I played, so I forget the combos. Now that you can just tap a shoulder button to unleash an attack, maybe working it in'll be more tolerable than the first game's menu clutter. I'm going to give Shepard all the "ammo powers for everyone" morphs and let the others just have the non-teamwide upgrades.

I prefer sheppard having heavy ammo powers + Reave + Adrenaline rush cause your partners aggressiveness is very lacking imo.

The teammate AI hasn't seemed that crappy so far. Yeah, I guess sometimes I'll tell 'em to move this way or that and they run into crossfire and die, but that's more of my fault, haha.

The AI is demonstrably better than the player with some things.

The Incisor has terrible recoil for a player, it's super tricky to tag all three shots. Squaddies don't have recoil.

Ahh, so that's it.

Eh, just play through the first game via the Legendary Edition as the team assigned to remastering the trilogy did a surprisingly competent job getting the first game more easily accessible with all the neat quality of life fixes and tweaks they added in, my favorite two off the top of my head being that the Mako has a lateral boost akin to the ND-1 Nomad from ME Andromeda now, and that Shepard can sprint outside of combat now along with melee having a dedicated button so you no longer have to worry about getting close enough for the game to change your attack for you.

I've never played. Is the Legendary Edition worth a buy?

Yes.

Did they ever fix Stasis or is it still broken? Remember it being such a busted power in the original ME2, then played the LE version and was a bit disappointed it was bugged and you couldn't get it as a bonus power.

Apparently a lot of things that were tied to having certain achievements unlocked stopped working as intended when some of those achievements were removed in the remaster. Not sure if Stasis particularly was fixed, but I do recall a bunch of other bugged loyalty powers being fixed so you could actually unlock them, so hopefully it got fixed as well.

Got Jack and "saved" Horizon. Nothing talks about the forceful resilience of the human species more than seeing a praetorian's death laser blocked by a pile of old tires. Somewhere, the ghost of Bob Seger started singing "Like a Rock."

Team mates are great distractions but theyre damage output is just ass next to the player controlling sheppard. Even how often they fire guns. A soldier shep with a heavy ammo type and adrenaline rush and or reave.

I was running around looting some bodies on grunts loyalty mission and they took a while to kill the last enemy.....

Fine, I upgraded Shepard's first ammo ability selfishly.

Guess I'll get Thane, since I think you can get a new sniper rifle (Black Widow? Widow?) on his mission. To be honest, I always found Thane stupid and boring and never really cared about anything that happens to him. Maybe I'll treat him like crap for renegade points.

And I remembered why I thought I could get Wrex: I was thinking (I believe) of Mordin's loyalty mission on Tuchanka. I might also be remembering something from ME3, though. Either way, if Krogan are involved, you know it's going to be a helluva fight. That nasty ol' genophage needs a good reversal.

Broke this one scientist chick out of Batarian prison. I'm guessing this is some kind of DLC, 'cause I definitely don't remember doing this one ever. Any chance to kill more Batarians is always good, though...I guess. I did feel bad for the dude complaining about working 47 days in a row. Just a little.

Welp, I sent the asteroid into the mass relay and killed 300,000 Batarians, despite my efforts to send word of escaping. Those poor, disgusting, belligerent, six-eyed people. I'm sure there are some humans out there who consider this the "good ending," but I'm guessing there's a "save everyone" route I could've taken if I hadn't shot that chick with the deadman switch. Renegade Shep don't play 'round.

I agree with the people saying to give the squad the Incisor. It makes them competent, if maybe a little too overpowered.

I basically cruised through insanity due to that.

I had Incisor on everyone early with the Zaeed/Garrus team, but I'm rocking Zaeed/Grunt now. Might've changed over to the Viper and forgotten to change back, though.

Alright, did Grunt and Mordin's loyalty missions and saved the genophage "cure" for later use. Guess I'll go do the collector ship salvage mission, since Illusive Man sent me there immediately after his convo.

I'm a bit disappointed in myself right now. Started a run as Xenophoebe shepard, being a total ass to all aliens. Just finished Virmire as soon as I could. Found out that if there are only 4 squadmates, you automatically calm Wrex down.

I have to take comfort in the idea that that I've never spoken to Wrex or Tali on the ship, and I'm just sitting here with old armor and geth data. They can never touch it.

Interested in how ME2 is going to turn out. I mean, if I only deal with Jack, Miranda, and Jacob, the Normandy isn't going to fare too well now is it.

I sent that REALLY high Volus to fight that powerful biotic during Samara's recruitment mission. A great wind indeed.

Hilarious, yes, but still messed up.

I brought Zaeed and Grunt with, so you know they were down to see him crumpled like an accordian, haha. If I recall, I need a certain amount of para/gade points to do something on Zaeed's loyalty mission (save him? convince him to let his quarry go?), so I gotta make the most of these opportunities.

Para has a hard check (but not that bad), Renegade has no worries.

Yeah, the problem is that you can go do that mission as soon as you Zaeed, so it's almost like a little trap, haha.
