maybe i've just reached my limit with the 3rd party action adventure games, but they're all starting to feel like the same game to me, just with different combat

Yeah it's a shame. Sony used to be great at making games, now they're just western trend chasers

horizon , days gone, uncharted, the last of us, god of war, ghost of tsushima, all feel like the same game to me, i know they play differently but its just that *feel* that they are all structured very similarly, that makes me feel like i'm playing a game i've played hundreds of times before.

How dare you speak ill of Horizgone, The Last Of Ushima, Horizuncharted, Ghost of War, God Of Us, Gonecharted, The Ghost Of Us, Gone Of War and all the other wonderful Sony exclusives that are revolutionising gaming.

Gran Turismo, R&C, Returnal?

Had no idea Ghost if Tsushima was a PlayStation exclusive.

i didn't list those because their genres are too different, as you know one is a roguelike metroidvania and the other is... a racing game, and the other is an action platformer. They're not Sonys big budget exclusives. If R&C were open world i'm sure it would start to feel the same too

All video games are the same.

You should give that a rest and play a different genre then if you're bored with that formula because I can tell you it is not a Sony thing. It would be no different than as if you went through a marathon of Grid Legends, Forza Horizon, Gran Turismo, and DIRT 5 or a dozen call of dutys.

Im a huge Sony fanboy, but he has a point.

Because they're all designed with graphics in mind first and gameplay tacked on as an afterthought.

I don't feel that way with the different Sony IPs. The only games that start to give me the "samey" feeling are Ubisoft games. They use a very similar formula for their open world games.

But for the Sony games, they're similar in that they're open world and cinematic, but they're pretty different outside of that.

It's weird too because over on the BOTW board they act like BOTW invented it.

They just have too many Ubisoft style open world games tbh.

I overall like Horizon and Ghost of Tsushima but I'm never going to be all that excited about them. Days Gone was a waste of resources. Spider-Man gets by because it's fun to play as Spider-Man. The actual structure of those games themselves are still overall rather generic.

I still like the stuff from Naughty Dog and Sony Santa Monica.
