That is a tough question. If you mean can I switch with minimal effort then no. Can I technically switch? Yes. However, the risk is very high for me to do so since I will need to go back to school and take on debt when I dont have any currently.

Yeah but thats he flip side is an opportunity to do something you enjoy more and the possibility of increasing your future earnings.

Pharmacy tech. Moving up for me at this point is becoming a Pharmacist. Even then, that wont solve the critical thinking problem based on the pharmacists Ive seen. Plus, I dont even want to be a Pharmacist. Its a long story about how I got put in this position

True. Tbh, I dont have a lot of confidence in myself. Highschool was easy for me. I went a Pharmacy program because I was kinda forced into it. I fell flat on my face and dropped out within 2 years. My study habits were awful and I just became a pharmacy tech. I dont know if I will perform well in school based on my last attempt. If I fail, I can ruin my life

Maybe so. Only you can fairly judge how likely that is. But you definitely wont succeed if you dont take your shot.

If it makes you feel any better, Ive had many different jobs before finding what I wanted to do. It did mean starting at the bottom each time but Im doing very well for myself now in a job I enjoy and which pays well and has great benefits. It is possible, but it wont be easy.

What about a trade school? You seem like you might find it easier to learn something hands-on.

Its a good idea and I dont honestly havent really looked much into what careers I can have going through a trade school. I honestly should look at my options.

Work in IT like me where you can sit at your desk and play video games for like 6 hours until some major network infrastructure has an issue, troubleshoot and fix it in like 30 minutes then go back to video games.

Get a nice dopamine kick from fixing shit

My job is pretty mindless, as there's a fair amount of downtime. I read, play games, do word search (or number search, which is harder). Thinking about doing some sudoku, or some quick card games. My wife is a pharmacy technician, so I know she doesn't have the same down time as I do. But are you engaging your self mentally outside of work much? At a previous job that was pretty mundane I spent a lot of time just thinking. About philosophy, say trying to determine if something was morally right. Weighing the options, stuff like that. Maybe give that a try?

Yea I quit my job of 6 years due to this. I was making good money but the work was truly brainless and I wasn't learning anything.

I'm much happier now working in a industry I've always dreamed of being apart of.

I do work in IT. As a software developer though. They are always making me do stuff, it sucks.
