It was pretty fun but excessively short and with no real depth. Compared to Joker 3 it was a good ten-ish steps back, and while that would generally be fine the fact that it lacked relevant multiplayer somewhat killed it a bit for me. Worth it as a discounted game but as a full priced one it's kind've meh.

Oh, and it doesn't have the whole gym badge thing from Pokemon so you very much should just catch dudes way above your pay grade. Gigantes was my MVP: super high everything and he's pretty simple to grind up a one-shot special for.

My 10 year old is having a blast with it. I'm playing when I can pry the Switch away from her and I'm on level 25. I found the Amber Horn and I've done some of the side quests.

I think the only people who are overy critical are the die hard DQ purists who are still mad we got something different instead of a DQ Monster hunter game.

Nice. Gigantes helped me a lot in dq5 DS.
