Im playing it on PSVR and everytime I bring that Vampire chick from the tomb to the entrance, she just stands there doing nothing. I can't get past the irongate. I been stuck on this for like 2 years lol. Last time I just loaded an old file and avoided it for 50+ more hours >_>

Is there no way around the glitch?

For anyone else that may know what they're doing

that happened to me on my last playthrough
only way i know how to fix it is console commands to disable the gate

Damn. If I restart, what's the chance I get the same glitch?

I don't wanna leave my 265 hour file behind, but I don't know what else I wanna do on it anyway. I think there's other glitched missions on it too.

is it a door that serana is supposed to open for you? or is there just a switch you're not seeing?
if it's the former, then her script isn't prompting her to do the action that opens the gate
you can try reloading an earlier save, but i've never had any luck with that
only way i know is to type prid [serana's id] with the console open and then type disable, enter, enable, enter

i didn't have it happen with serana, but i did have it happen with karliah on the way to meet nocturnal
i do remember there being a switch in a tower in that dungeon that i had a bitch of a time finding though

If you hold a plate up to a certain spot on the gate, you can use the whirlwind sprint shout to clip through it. Its a pretty consistent clip too. You have to do it every time you want to enter but its better than being completely softlocked.

Did you try fast travelling after with her? It should make her jump to wherever you are, I believe.

Maybe use unrelenting force on her to force her past wherever she gets stuck?

Could this be why it glitched in the first place? So much data floating around that could get crossed or something?

I do know that I've never really gotten any game breaking bugs but I also make a new character for every guild (thieves fighters mages etc I forget what they call em in Skyrim) so I never had a bloated save file with anything

there's supposed to be an NPC there that greets serana and lets you in
uhhhh
When you first visit the castle, he'll stop you, saying:
"Begone! You're not welcome here!"
Then, upon seeing Serana with you, he'll be shocked and say:
"Lady Serana's back! Open the gate!"
He will then lead you both into the castle.

Make it part of your character's lore.
They wouldn't let him in because (insert wacky ideas)

apparently the watchman at volkihar castle respawns, so on the chance that he's dead, try going to your house and waiting for 10 game days

He's not dead. I can trigger him myself by leaning forward in the VR. But he just gives one line. I might have to try the plate glitch.

The only thing about that is in VR it can get annoying you you're doing things slightly wrong. Since you gotta take the headset off to look at your mistake again. I suck at following instructions lol. I usually just stop playing games if it comes to me needing outside help this much. Hence the 2 years of me avoiding this.

Probably bout to try it. Where's the bedt place to get a plate like that? I assume they're probably commong. Jarls dinner tables?
