there used to be this comic strip called For Better Or For Worse. From what I remember, the creator had time pass by in real time in the story. Characters aged like they woukd be expected to as the real world progressed. There was a little girl at the start who by the time it ended was in college I think

Now picture if Simpsons did that. But it still lasted just as long. Its been going since season 1 up to 2022. But the world of Springfield was subjected to natural time progression. Grandpa Simpson died years ago. Maggie, Lisa and Bart are all adults. Homer and Marge are getting old. We have new characters too. Like Lisa, Bart and Maggie's children.

Do you think this version of Simpsons would be good? Basically each season would be chronologically set in the same year it aired. And the story would reflect that
