Debit Card.

I have lots of money/reserves, and I prefer to see all transactions on my bank account immediately.

In Switzerland, credit cards aren't a common payment method in everyday life. I have one, but only use it for online transactions occasionally. Most people that I know always use debit cards.

Credit. Not sure why any responsible adult in the U.S. wouldn't use it over debit. Cashback rewards on every purchase and also building up your credit score. If you don't pay your balance off in full every month, you're doing it wrong.

Pre-pandemic I used credit card for online because it was the only option and cash for physical stores. Pandemic showed me that I actually have no interest in going to stores, so I was doing online only and was planning to continue doing so. Interchange fees have now thrown a wrench in that. Ill have to see how it works out, but I might have to abandon credit cards as much as possible and go back to cash.
