MICHALECOLE 09/03/22 4:25:10 PM #1:	On Wednesday, frontman Fat Mike casually dropped the news in the comments section of a post on his Instagram page. A frustrated fan asked the singer-bassist why NOFX "barely" performs in Canada. The fan received a response, but it probably wasn't the one expected. "Actually, We love Canada, it's just that next year will be our last year," Fat Mike, whose real name is Michael John Burkett, replied. "We will be announcing our final shows soon. It's been an amazing run." That run began nearly 40 years ago in 1983 with Fat Mike, guitarist Eric Melvin and drummer Erik Sandin as the founding members. In 1991, Aaron "El Hefe" Abeyta joined the group as lead guitarist and trumpet player. my favorite punk band ever. There was a weekly punk radio show that aired on U of T's campus radio station. I was close enough to be able to pick it up. I used to record their episodes on cassette and then take songs I liked and make my own mix tapes. They got a promo copy of The Decline and played it in its entirety. They have a couple seasons of a series called Backstage Passport and I got a full season on ebay for like 20 bucks, they go around the world and play dangerous places, dives deep into their tour lives and it's worth watching. Full episodes are on youtube for free, at least they were. --- I feel sorry for the earth's population, 'cause so few live in the U.S.A.
