I was already outside and the lady came running out saying she needed to check my receipt. My wife made me stop, I was just planning on continuing on.

i had a big ass box of unbagged chips and tried to show the checker my receipt but she was like, "nah, you have a great day."

I like to pay for shit and then hide it in my jacket so the receipt checker can't verify my purchases. It's like reverse stealing, bc I have a receipt that says I bought shit but no merch to back it up. They get confused but obviously they ain't gonna stop me for stealing bc I ain't got anything.

Costco has the real door cops.

Walmart they rarely care at all. And when they do who the fuck cares? Take 30 seconds and let them see the receipt. They have a shit job, shit pay, and are usually around 107 or so. I don't get why some people get so mad about it unless you feel like it was racial profiling, but most people I know who try and just walk past are white people so... Its the most minor of inconveniences.

Well if you've got nothing to hide it shouldn't be a problem, right?

They stopped doing it at local walmarts because it was found that they were mostly asking black and native people, while whites were left unbothered.

I know. I'm not rude but I ignore them. I'll flash my receipt on the way out but I don't stop.

As someone who had to check receipts at Best Buy I can say two things:

1) Don't be a dick about it. We don't really care but our boss is gonna harass us if we don't ask people for their receipt

2) I've actually prevented several thousands of dollars in shrink by receipt checking. There's a reason companies do it.

Yeah but its 30 seconds out of your day and they're old people whose lives are so sad they either do it cause they're that bored or because they need the income even though they should be way past retired.

Our Walmart only busts out the receipt checkers during the Christmas season. For the rest of the year they rely on the detectors that are supposed to beep if someone shoplifts. Ours beep whenever they feel like it though, and the workers don't care one bit.

Idk maybe because im brown but I totally feel watched. Like Im checking out and the guy is essentially just hovering over me specifically. I get to the receipt checker, 3 people pass by the checker and of course I get flagged down specifically outside the store. And we respond to Walmarts all the time so I know what they do

Don't forget to tip your receipt checkers
