Is this too dark for a kid >_>. We give it a pass cause it's a documentary, but when it's like "It melts its insides into a liquid and drinks them" or whatever. Im like "Yooo, this is fuckin me up. How is my niece perceiving this?". I also wonder of it creates a more than deserving fear of nature. You should always fear nature. But not enough to want to avoid it.

Don't you remember all the fucked up shit you watched as a kid? Playing GTA3 behind your parents back, watching Titantic to see some titties in that one scene, sneaking around and watching Halloween or Friday the 13th or Robocop, etc. You still turned out fine >_>

Yeah. I don't remember at 6 but I do remember Mortal Kombat in Elementary School and GTA in middle school. It was really easy to play stuff behind my parents back.

I don't. Im also only a uncle, so I have a lil more lax responsibility. I think the age before they can properly communicate just throws me off. Her 16 year old sister has a twisted sense of humor I encourage tho >_>. We go in-between making super ignorant jokes (more so me making jokes and her laughing at the absurdity of the stupidity Im displaying) and talking about the real reasons people probably think in ignorant ways. I feel like it's a good balance going on.

Surprisingly, as much as I watch violent movies and play violent games, all my dreams play out in pg13 ways. The gore is always happening next to where Im looking. And Iean to the extent I can't think of a single gory dream. Despite remembering dreams daily

Yeah. I wasn't making this topic with the intention of avoiding this in the future. Just looking for perspective. I struggle to find stuff Im interested in that I can watch around kids lol. So, I can't really ditch documentaries

I suggest The Dukes of Hazzard.

Ive yet to meet a young boy that doesnt play with little cars. The Dukes of Hazzard is that but with real cars.

It depends on how old your niece is. I'd say that's fine for a middle schooler, but not so much like a 5 or 6 year old.

Kids can handle a lot more than they're given credit for. All those age warnings are more to appease helicopter parents.
