A 67-year-old Knoxville man who was convicted for his actions during the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol faces a new charge of possession of guns as a convicted felon.
Clifford Meteer, 67, faces one count of felon in possession of firearms following a federal indictment on July 20. He pleaded not guilty in an initial court appearance on July 29.

He was already a convicted felon when he participated in the insurrection attempt. When the FBI searched his home in connection with his activities at the capitol, they found multiple firearms that he wasn't allowed to own. The trial for these charges is set for October 3rd, apparently, and he could face a little over 5 years in prison.

Yup. I know someone who got way longer than 60 days for stealing food for her kid. Being poor is way more illegal than trying to overthrow the government apparently.

He's looking to be 75 years old when he gets out of the Joint.

Probably doesn't care.

Also probably will get looked after better if locked up.
