Its an old article but I just found it. Im amazed at almost all of the choices. Shin-Chan is a fair addition.

Tom & Jerry
In May this year, officials in Egypt blamed the rising tide of violence in the Arab world on Tom and Jerry. A local website called Youm7 published an article titled, "Five accusations Tom and Jerry faces in Egypt", and highlighted how the cartoon normalized violence among kids and also encouraged bad habits like smoking and drinking. Many parents have also complained how children started to ape the violence and eventually end up harming each other. They producers were forced to tone down the violence quotient in the cartoon.

Shin-Chan
The five-year-old character Shin Chan was a naughty kid who would blurt out age-inappropriate things by his own whim and fancy. While the show was funny many kids started copying his crazy antics. Parents all over India hated this cartoon, so much so that it was eventually banned. TOI quoted a clinical psychologist Rajat Mitra as saying, 'Shin Chan shows you can be smarter than adults and even fool them. His naughtiness is exciting and gives kids a sense of high by which they can become equal to adults.'

Peppa Pig
Peppa Pig a British preschool animated television series stirred up strong emotion among parents who complained that the cartoon encouraged kids to become bullies and made them misbehave in public.Some reports suggest that the cartoon even propagated usage of foul language which many kids picked up.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Yes! Something that all of grew up watching. They all maybe crime fighters, trying to end evil, but that indirectly fosters violent behavior among children. Some reports also suggest that it encouraged bad eating among kids, many started binge eating pizzas, just like the Ninja team after every fight, all of it led to obesity among kids.

Road Runner
This was one of my favourite cartoons growing up. It might all seem extremely adorable on the outside, the coyote's endless quest to kill the bird. Much like Tom and Jerry, the coyote's violent ways had a direct impact on the way kids started behaving.

Doeraemon
Nobita is a lazy and naughty boy while his pet cat Doraemon stops him from his crazy antics. Parents have complained that the show made their children lazy and mischievous at the same time. The cartoon also has a lot of hot-headed characters. It's also a pretty annoying cartoon.

I get the impression that the writer just wanted to write an article hating on something and didnt care enough to do the research.

That's kinda where I'm at with stuff like this, but at the same time not. You know, I write shit expecting people to disagree with it all the time. For various reasons. So is it ill-intentioned? Idk

Saw India Times, and not going to lie was expecting an article still salty about Clone High.

This is like every kid show ever lol

What gets me is the Turtles one. Honestly.

Does it "foster violence" over defending yourself? Is it abnormal? I don't think kids tend to think they're actually ninjas, or turtles, or live in sewers.

I mean, have you seen the English dub? It is nails on a chalkboard. Id imagine they would want to ban it for the weird pervy stuff or the moms outbursts.

Peppa Pig is great, dont know why everyone hates it. You can tell the writers knew it was baby fodder, so they added a lot of wit and stuff for the parents in it. Its really good if you give it a try.

I can get Ninja Turtles and Tom and Jerry, but come on.

Shin Chan, sure. I live in Japan, and it is basically how American moms hated Beavis and Butthead or Simpsons when we were kids in the early 90s, except it is much more lewd and brash. Its really something else.

Im surprised they said all these, but didnt mention stuff like, I dunno, Steven Universe, which has a bunch of super liberal ideas, or ultra violent shows like Invincible. Weird, they mostly chose stuff about kids being kids, and animal antics.

Idk if Id sacrifice all those others just to get rid of Peppa Pig, but its tempting

Shin Chan isn't for kids, it was on Adult Swim in the states during it's second US broadcast.

I heard the 1979 Doraemon may be a bit sussy, but I doubt they are airing any of the 1979 stuff, so I don't agree with it.

Tom and Jerry isn't bad outside of a few episodes that were banned for obvious blackface & black stereotyping, the violence is beyond tame by today's standards.

TMNT isn't bad at all.

Peppa Pig? Seriously? What's bad about that.
