I just realized how much Earthbound comforts me when I see it set up in people's video and it might be because most people who represent it as a fan come off pretty likable. I could be subconsciously rejecting anyone who doesn't fit my idea of an Earthbound fan into my conscious, but Ill have to look out for that now.

But if someone mentions Earthbound, Im like "This one my peoples".

I get that with Kingdom Hearts, but not totally sure why. Maybe it's because when it came out, despite being fairly popular, no one I knew had heard of it and even local game stores weren't selling it so had to buy it online. So now it's cool when I find someone else who is into it, and they're typically nice people who like nice things.

EarthBound and Mother 3 are my two favorite games ever made. Do you think that about me?

Never had that experience with a videogame. Dungeons and Dragons on the other hand, you're one of my people, even if we never play at the same table.

Video game wise probably either Stardew Valley or Isaac. Board-game wise lately I've been playing a lot of Fluxx with my ex-roommate and his fiancee. Its quick games that last maybe 10 minutes at most and just a lot of fun to play together. Though me and my ex-roommate went through a few coop games a few years ago, and started playing that QWOP space game whose name I forget. Also, and I can't stress this enough, It Takes 2. Played with my brother-in-law and we bonded over it. That said, I've been trying to get him to play another game with me and he keeps ducking me.

Do I got the cousin for you lol. Dude doesn't shut up about Kingdom Hearts lol. He's definitely a nice guy, so it checks out.

I was trying to be insulting so that people would actually respond lol. I really need that stuff in my life atm too, but Im pretty good at backing off as well.

Im also realizing once again how bad I did at explaining what I meant. But I actually like the directions everyone is taking it anyway

You make me rethink my whole stance. Now I feel like only evil people play Earthbound and I might just throw my copy away.

I just realized you're who Im kind of arguing with in another topic. So, I should probably mention that was sarcasm lol. That argument isn't really specific enough for me to judge your character either way

I think when I find another fan of the Binding of Isaac, I feel a pretty special bond because that game goes really deep for me. Like, its literally a meditation for me and helps me contextualize and process problems. Theres an extremely powerful visual metaphor to me of being a scared child walking into a room filled with shit (literally) attacking you and you have to continue onward even if you can only cry, cuz if you stand still and give up then being alive just becomes the same thing as being dead.

People who are intensely passionate about that game just kinda understand me.
