But a car does open up a lot more possibilities. You could do the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and even Roaring Camp (yeah, I like trains, so what?). You could go to Tilden Park in Berkeley, Chabot Regional Park in Castro Valley, Chabot Space and Science Center in the Oakland Hills (and/or the park around it).
