Something I've noticed for the past few years is that the main console boards(PS4/XB) tend to be a lot more toxic and people generally have far harsher attitudes

Even simple questions gets people on those system boards riled up and prone to posting meme pics/vids,etc. Not even going into the standard system vs system discussions, but it just seems that the main console boards are a lot more toxic.

Because they're a bunch of teenagers desperate to prove that their under powered PC is better than the other under powered PCs.

more traffic = more likely to attract more toxicity

At this point, the people left on ce all know each other. I like to imagine we are less inclined to be assholes to each other due to familiarity.

it's a different toxicity

console board toxicity is straight-up taunting others and flaming their gamebox

CE toxicity is entering every thread trying to figure out how to needle and nitpick whatever the TC is saying no matter how mundane or noncontroversial, or accuse them of being an alt/troll like anyone cares

There's good people on both sides.

yeah i thought all of gamefaqs was as toxic as the console boards till I discovered this place sometime last year.

The worst place on GameFAQs is the Pro Wrestling Boards. Console wars over promotions, it's god damn obnoxious. You cannot even remotely have fun without people throwing fits.
