my dad does it a lot and i dont know how to make him understand and i just end up saying 1 word answers in a really bitchy way wtf do i do i dont want to be rude but when i feel like that if i have to talk i cant stop myself from being rude

Are you your fathers daughter or son?

Just say "I'm not in a talkative mood right now".

Which, admittedly, requires a fair bit of effort when you really aren't in the mood to talk to anyone.

So what do you do when you're working?

If you can't even say a full sentence or 2 to explain that you aren't in the mood to talk, then you likely need some therapy. Maybe you already are doing that.

Not trying to be non supportive, so sorry if I come across that way. Not being in the mood to talk is one thing, but completely non-verbal except one word answers is clearly a major problem that needs to be addressed.

In the meantime, you probably should talk to your dad when you are talkative to explain why this sometimes happens.

are you hanging out in a common area, or in your room? I go to my room if I dont feel like dealing with people

normally i go to my room when i feel like this but sometimes i feel like this when im doing chores that need to be done so i cant just not do them

Would it be seen as disrespectful if you use headphones in the house when you're not in a talkative mood? It's pretty normal to mix music and chores. So, it shouldn't come off odd
