Congrats to PrinceOfKoopas again for winning number two. I was worried Ermine was gonna win every week like a badass but we have some decent competition. I think KP has a real shot at winning. Ya luv to see it.

If anyone wants me to add more stages to the list feel free to let me know. I know the Coinbox uses Yoshi's Story. Some rulesets use Lylat and Northern Cave. This is all obviously for fun so

Got bored and made a graph of how I view every character's strength versus their consistency. 'Consistency' was measured in terms of:

1. How easy their gameplan is to execute in practice
2. How much their gameplan relies on their opponents messing up or having low matchup experience
3. How many unusually bad matchups they have compared to their theoretical strength level
4. How many inconsistent hitboxes they have, where opponents fall out of your moves

As an example, Falco was deemed to be Slightly Consistent because, while he has several iffy smash hitboxes, his combos are very simple and effective, and his gameplan is both similar and effective against most of the cast.

The graph got...kinda crowded but I did my best to make every icon stand out lmao.

Unfortunately I didn't have the setting right so it didn't record the VOD for last time. I'll have it set up right next time. Sad you won't be here to compete tho!

Last week I got Maister. This week I get Fatality.

Fatality came at me with GANONDORF and I got a stock off him in two games. Ganon just melts Sephiroth's stocks so easily.

I should've played more campy but oh well.

Lylat and Northern Cave are great. Yoshi's Story is not.

Bowser Jr. should be moved to "inconsistent" because we are very dependent on our opponents not having match-up experience!

OH ANYWAY, my tourney run tonight. I lost to Fatality's Ganondorf obviously, then I won by DQ in loser's 1.

And then

I won my first ever Coinbox set. I beat a Cloud player 2-0.

Then I lost next round to a Banjo player.

So the Banjo player NARROWLY avoided me coming back with Wing hax in game one, and then he literally camped me until a Time Out in game two.

I went into his chat and apparently one of his viewers begged him to time me out, and the rest of his chat was dunking on them for doing it. He apologized and said he felt terrible for it and he sent his viewers to go follow my channel lol so it worked out.

I also practiced a shit ton tonight. Played about an hour of Sephiroth dittos.

I played against a Robin player who seemed extremely distressed that someone knew the matchup because he quit in our second match after I was up two stocks only having taken 20% lmao

Yoshi's is fun! (that's the tri-plat with small blast zones, right?) Northern Cave is alright, and I get why some people hate Lylat, but I don't mind it really.

I wish I had been streaming yesterday.

Anyway, I think I'mma add Northern Cave and Yoshi's Story to the list of counterpicks. I think I should probably add a third ban for match winners in that case.

I am also thinking of making round one of both winners and losers as best of 3 to speed things up.

It might work out if we did best of 3s until either winner's/loser's or grand finals or something. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but this format would be one additional set of concurrent matches compared to last time.

Edit: I might have misunderstood the format, but after re-reading, this might be the same number of concurrent matches as last time if we're jumping straight to winner's finals from groups.

Though to be fair, I guess if there are more people playing in sets 2 and 3, there are more opportunities for 5-game sets which may prolong things more than last time.

I'm cool with Round Robin. The more matches the merrier I say!

So I was thinking, two groups of 4. Everyone plays each other in their own group once. I think making it best of 3 would probably be best until we get to the bracket.

I want the top two to advance into winners, and the 2nd and 3rd place to go to loser's. 4th places are both eliminated.

And from there we just do a normal tournament best of 5.

Okay so I've decided: With Stingers, two groups of 4. Top 3 from each group advance.

Without stingers: one group of 7. Top 4 advance. Group stages are best of 3.

I'll ask my buddy again to see if hes done with the switch yet
