The Supreme Court agreed Monday to revisit the question of affirmative action in higher education, deciding to hear a case challenging Harvard and the University of North Carolina's use of race in college admissions.
With the court already having heard arguments this term on abortion and guns, the affirmative action case marks yet another politically charged issue that threatens to uproot decades of legal doctrine. Arguments in the pair of cases will likely be heard in the court's new term, which begins in October.

Wasn't this already addressed in 2017 where SCOTUS said affirmative action was fine as long as it's only used as a plus factor?

You're not going to get into Harvard of all places based on race alone lmao

Anti-AAers always come as if there are no minorities actually qualified for a school/job.

As if places are typically passing by a list of qualified people to pick some random minority off the street.

If you have a group of similar applicants, they're going to pick the winners somehow.

Pros: helps to undo decades (or centuries) of systemic oppression

Cons: White men get real up in their feelings about it

Is there any available data as to what percentage of those are athletes and how they determined the 75% failure rate? Seems to be paywalled. Seems silly to include athletes when athletics is such a major industry, so curious as to what percentage they make of that 75%.
