You have shows like the 90s Spider-Man where real bullets were never shown, a vampire doesn't drink blood, and nobody ever dies

But then you have big theatrical films where you see characters die if they are the heroes parents or the end villain

"Traditional" kids cartoons were 65 episodes that were meant to be run in no particular order, and re-run essentially forever. Killing someone off in episode 29 doesn't really work when episode 7 could be run tomorrow.

No they weren't allowed to show any death. TMNT foot soldiers got turned into robots. GI Joe only ever blew up drones and even censored Duke's death scene by changing it to a Coma. Conan the Adventurer only had to tap set's minions with his weapons and they would vanish into thin air.

It was one of the few times Filmation didn't half-ass it with recycled animation.

Ahh, the good old days when death meant being sent to another dimension.

Originally, he was supposed to have accidentally killed someone. The studio changed it to him being framed by a shapeshifting alien without a heartbeat.

That's as close as you could get in 1984.

It's unreal that Mighty Orbots got have a definitive ending.
