  2. They're losing an atmosphere that contributes to their home field advantage, which is what the fans should ostensibly be concerned with. All across sports, home teams won less frequently during the covid period when stadiums and arenas were empty.

I am pretty sure this isn't the first time they've banned fans as a result of this though in other teams, so I'm not sure it is as much a deterrent as intended. The ones effected might be pissed at the racists, but the teams and clubs all need to crack down hard - life bans for any fan from all related events, including local for it to really spread.

And even if they will blame the racists and not "the big bad organisation" I am not certain on either.

To be fair, Qatar was a decision FIFA took when they were saddled with a leadership team receiving briefcases full of cash to ensure that Qatar got it.
