If I were a woman I wouldn't want to have a large social media presence. Imagine all the creepy stalkers, incels and weirdos you'd have to deal with constantly.

Self respect

Privacy

Other concerns about self esteem and so on. All on top of worrying about your environment, public image, so many other things. Exploitation, etc.

This is the correct answer.
OF, Twitch, Patreon, etc. are the new MLM/ponzi scams, without even having to bother with scam part.

It's not easy money, at most the average person on those sites makes enough to pay a monthly subscription fee to Amazon or Netflix or whatever. Earning $192 last month put a friend above 73% of other active content creators that month.

In the time it would take another friend to get a outfit and theme planned out, take pics, go through them, and do basic lighting edits she'd probably have put in 6 hours of work for one shoot. Historically speaking, she'd need 2+ a month to pull in more than $200. Is 12 hours of her time worth $200?

But wait, she'd still have to be active on Twitter to broadcast new content and to keep actively posting among relevant circles, plus dealing with people asking for stuff and telling them about the page to buy that stuff, no freebies, etc.

Is 24+ hours of work a month worth $200? To her, yes, because she spreads it out through the month. But that's still not very much money.
