It's definitely among his best. My only issue is maybe it being a little too long towards the end, but that's minor. Also:

Agreed, I just rewatched it recently. Waltz & Foxx's chemistry was amazing, as well Leo's entire performance. My favorite Tarantino flick is probably always going to be Pulp Fiction but Django is my runner up.Yep. I love Waltz and Leo and Foxx was great also. And also the little things in the directing like the sudden zoom ins and that one slave who hated Django at first on the way to Candyland but then gives him that long stare of admiration when he rides away back to Candyland. The KKK scene with everyone in masks was one of the funniest things I've seen in a Tarantino movie

Definitely my favorite Tarantino flick of the latter half of his career ('latter half' being anything after Kill Bill, which I was bizarrely obsessed with in college). His other movies were technically great and well-acted, but Django hit me in the feels in a couple key moments that the other latter-half movies couldn't match.
