Yeah this is a big problem. It's even worse in the UK than the US.

I've literally been in the middle of sets with guys at the gym when suddenly go "We're going on the treadmil now. come on." and it's like "why?" and they go "So we can stare at the girls doing yoga for an hour!"

It's fucking weird.

Guys don't seem to click that the girls in the gym are trying to work out. It's super disrespectful.

The amount of guys I've seen go into the womens changing rooms "By accident" is ridiclous.

I met my last girlfriend at the gym by walking up to her and hitting on her. Ive also become friends with women at the gym who I initially hit in but they told me theyre already in a relationship. Its like any other social situation, you just have to be respectful and quick with your interactions to not disturb each others workouts.

But yeah, like at work, women don't like to be approached in a sexual/flirty way by people they don't know. Maybe if you get to know the girl and understand her boundaries you can flirt a little in a public place; otherwise just keep to yourself or give her a regular greeting.

I don't think I agree with this. You have a built in common interest if you're regulars there. Most people aren't going to get irate over someone wanting to talk.

In your hypothetical example, the man was wrong for approaching her to begin with unless they went to the gym together. He got lucky and it worked out for him, but it doesn't make the original approach appropriate.

That second paragraph... Sounds like something a creep would say. Or a bitter person. The last sentence is accurate. But lets not act like the guys more often than not arent creeps and really just struggling.
