The idea that society is male-dominated and that most societies have been male-dominated since time immemorial is entirely uncontroversial.
That patriarchal society prescribes relatively narrow roles for men and women within this structure and reacts negatively to those who do not conform is also entirely uncontroversial.
This limits women especially, but also men.
