The embargos for Doom 2016 very nearly killed the game because everyone assumed it was a dumpster fire (the multiplayer beta was terrible and Bethesda showed basically no pre-launch campaign game play)

I dunno why they continue to embargo every one of their games.

Didn't Bethesda try out a tactic with Doom 2016 where they put the review embargo after the game's release and hoped the hype for the game would carry its sales without negative reviews to cause havoc? And then they said it was so successful that would be their standard procedure going forward?

They still doing that?

They still doing that?

There was basically zero hype for Doom 2016 prior to launch

What's so crazy about it is that they only had a multiplayer beta because it was promised as a pre-order bonus for buying Wolfenstein: The New Order, and they basically didn't have a choice but to fulfill it.

A campaign demo would've been a lot more hype-building.

What time does the embargo lift tomorrow? I preordered it on GMG but haven't redeemed the key on Steam yet just because I want to be sure it doesn't totally suck
