In canadian provinces, we either set it at 19 and 18. I often hear Americans think drinking age is 21 on social medias and after googling, the majority of countries set it at 18.

In my province, we see american's drinking age as puritanism and when we are 18, we usually where told to take proper decisions to make sure we do not drive while being drunk.

I do wonder if americans think we are too lenient.

I think 21 is a bit high. Especially considering that you can do pretty much anything else at that age.

19 is a good age to set it for buying alcohol and cigarettes.

One odd thing here in the UK is that the age of consent is 16 but you still cant buy porn until youre 18..

It used to be 18 ib America but they raised the age to 21 I think 18 would be fine but a 2 drink limit

It doesn't matter that it's not allowed, people still do it regardless of the consequences. It not being allowed doesn't stop anyone from doing it.

I'm pretty sure there's zero tolerance for anyone under 25 when it comes to driving. You can't have any alcohol in your system at all.

Americans abuse alcohol other countries dont when i was in Italy a family could send a a 10 year old to the corner store for a bottle of dinner wine, the kids didnt sneak off to drink it

I'm honestly okay with the drinking age being 21. As noted already, alcohol abuse in the U.S. is already terrible. While teens can get access through illegal means, not being able to openly buy alcohol still limits the amount of them getting drunk and going out. I don't think lowering the age would be a positive.

It's 21 in Quebec(but the alcohol you are allowed to take before 25 is a bit lower)

Its absolutely asinine that its not 18. The *only* thing ill say is that most countries with a lower age do have far better public transport and rely on driving less.

equally annoying that everywhere in the US still cards you if you look under like 40. Such a pita

Increase it everywhere to 28 too many fucking stupid people. Majority of accidents caused by alcohol/drinking tend to be 30 and bellow they just pair the ages of 25-35 to hide the numbers of younger drivers

Why not just say 30 then, instead of playing around with an arbitrary 28?

Better yet, bring back Prohibition because every age group of drivers inevitably has drunk drivers.

In the UK, drink driving is much more common in older drivers than younger ones.

Those damn Puritan Americans, I can't believe they set it three whole grueling years later...

It's just them trying to sell to kids again with a new coat of paint. Banning flavors is 100% right.

Lower the drinking age and make DUI penalties way harsher

They didn't go far enough. ALL smoking and vaping should be banned and the production of such materials made illegal.
