Current Events > Just ordered a vita. Recommendations?

Just put an offer of $160 on a vita, charger, and 4gb memory card. Probably couldve found a better deal if I tried harder/longer but Im not losing sleep over it.

Probably mostly gonna use it as a portable Psone classic machine. But what do yall recommend I get for it?

Even if you don't want to mod it as much as you want, at least mod it for a SD2Vita. The cards for PS Vita are both way too expensive and way too small.

You also need to mod it to get a handful of PS1 classic games - even if you've already bought them (The most notable ones are the Crash/Spyro trilogies).

Otherwise, P4G is the Vita game that gets recommended every time this topic comes up if you go to the Vita board or a place like r/Vita. The Killzone, Gravity Rush and Uncharted games are really good, The Sly Cooper games all run really well (Thieves in time is less so, and you might want to avoid the Jak and Daxter/Ratchet and Clank collections), Dangonrampa and Zero Escape are fun if you like the visual novel kind of game and the Digimon games are pretty fun. Metal Gear collection also is lots of fun IIRC.

^Those are all Vita games btw. there are plenty more Vita games worth playing, but a lot of it depends on your interest in waifu stuff.

Vita cards are also prone to corruption the larger they are. I used to have a 64 gb card that corrupted and now I'm using a 16 gb that can't even hold 1/3 of my collection.

Gravity Rush, the akiba games, and neptunia games were some of my favorite games.

Just a heads up, there are several PS1/PSP/Vita games that are no longer available for download despite still being listed in the PS Vita store. Its really dumb.

I just noticed it last month when I tried purchasing some of them, since Sony was going to shutdown the store soon.

The only one I can remember off the top of my head right now is Little Kings Story & DLC for LittleBigPlanet.

I dont think anybody is keeping tabs on the store though.
