if you have an amount you just don't want to HODL or don't know how to cash out or whatever.

i just used crypto to buy RE8 from indiegala where it's currently on sale.

caveat:
depending on which "network" you use to transfer, there's a fee.

all my crypto is on binance and i foolishly thought it didn't matter what network i used. the store used the coinbase network which doesn't support transfer from the binance network and as such literally lost out on $50 worth of crypto. still, it's my first time trying and i'm losing money for your benefit which is alright i guess.

so i switched to the etherium network which charges a $10 fee and it's a bit of a hassle to calculate how much in eth i actually needed so i "overshot" by a certain amount just so the purchase wouldn't be cancelled. the amount went through but the purchase didn't go through because i overshot and i get an automated message(and email) saying maybe it was an error so i had to contact customer service with the order number.

i did so by explaining i overshot and didn't care about the extra amount and they validated the purchase when they got back to me the next day.

since i'm basically up by 2x what i invested in crypto way back when, i pretty much got the game for free imo =D
