I was using my infrared filter on my camera, which requires long exposure times. Even in super sunlight 20-30 second exposure is kinda what you need to get anything.

I've been doing tests at night, and I've been doing super long exposures(over an hour). At night all you see are sources of IR light but not much else unless its right near the light. So you see outlines of things and not a whole lot else, but the rest of the image being dark.

I shot some photos outside my front door with some christmas lights still up turned on, and I realized there was enough IR light to actually cut down exposure times significantly, so I took this fairly well lit shot with 5 minutes of exposure, and I wanted to do a portrait of some type - even though its hard to stand still for a 5 second exposure let alone 5 minutes.

edit: there is nothing rooted in science about my method of taking Infrared photos. It's mainly trial and error to see what works and looks cool, but I haven't looked up how to actually do these things per say.

As always I do recommend people to click through my image to imgur. it really reduced the quality just on the gamefaqs preview.

Disappointed. I wanted to see a fabulous JoJo's Bizarre Adventure pose.
