I've had this happen more times than I'm willing to admit. Shit's always weird and embarrassing.

Even now, one of my mom's friends that's done this before asks her if I'm single like every other month.

Years ago. One of my dads friends wanted me to go out with their son. He was early 30s, not college educated, minimum wage job & lived at home. I had a MBA and a decent paying job. Absolutely no interest in dating a guy like that. Luckily met the man that would be my husband at work soon after so my parents could say I was seeing someone.

Now that I think about it, I don't even know anything about any of my mom's friends' kids. Just told that I should meet them and see how things go. So at least you had that going for you beforehand.
