Japan has a 90% conviction rate and starts with the assumption of guilt. Prosecutors are usually the good guy because the defendant is usually an actual criminal. assuming we are talking about criminal law Never played Phoenix Wright, but I've heard a bunch of stories lately about prosecutors (and slightly unrelated, but media too) being bad guys in cases because they are exploiting anything they can such as bad science, underwhelming evidence, emotional influence etc to push charges on innocent people or at least guilty of much smaller crimes than they are charged of.
