Prosecuting or defense?

In general or any specific area you might want to fight for and feel is under represented or some other reason.

No interest in either since im too honest and would make a terrible lawyer (and politician). I suppose if i haf it in me id rather be a defense attorney since all you need is 1 as opposed to 12.

Being a lawyer IRL isnt like Phoenix Wright. Prosecutors are usually the good guy because the defendant is usually an actual criminal.
assuming we are talking about criminal law

Totally depends on the legal system you are working with. Japan has a 90% conviction rate and starts with the assumption of guilt. Also has a much higher percentage of innocent people incarcerated than the states, thats how you end up with games like Ace Attorney and Judgement.

Never played Phoenix Wright, but I've heard a bunch of stories lately about prosecutors (and slightly unrelated, but media too) being bad guys in cases because they are exploiting anything they can such as bad science, underwhelming evidence, emotional influence etc to push charges on innocent people or at least guilty of much smaller crimes than they are charged of. Basically the cases where I feel like an actual good defense attorney would be important.
