Depends on what his actions were. If he was one of the people in on the action in close proximity to or inside the Capitol, then hes not a protester, but a criminal. If he was someone who stayed back at the appropriate distance and didnt take part in the criminal aspect of things, then he could be a labeled a protester with a front row seat.

Was the dude just standing around protesting or did he enter the Capitol building/climb the wall etc around it?
Although, without knowing your hometown paper(and dont doxx yourself) they could be agenda pushing. Did they distinguish between BLM protests, police escalation and riots back in the summer or were they all blanketed under riots? --- ... Copied to Clipboard!
