I'm brown eyed but I want my kids to have blue or green eyes. It says here in order for that to happen, I have to mate with someone that has blue eyes. But I dont see anywhere about how green eyes are made though it says here Kristen kreuk has green eyes and her father has blue eyes and her mother has brown eyes.

So if I mate with a blue eyed woman, my kids will either have blue, green, or brown eyes?

Darker colored eyes are the dominant gene. It goes back to your parents etc as well as far as your kids go, since they could've possessed a recessive gene that just didn't get picked up in you yourself. Both blue and green are recessive genes in that they're lighter colored eyes.

My mom has brown eyes, and my dad has blue. I lucked out and got green. Mom says both my brother and me had blue when little, then they turned green. My brothers ended up going brown eventually, and she said that when mine started to darken that it made her cry thinking mine would end up brown too.

From what I've read, it seems that blue x brown can cause a mutation which "confuses" light and dark eyes which results in green. Then that mutation can just be passed along like any other as well.

Blue x Brown = Brown unless the brown eyed parent has a recessive allele for blue eyes

Mutations occur randomly. They are not triggered by two alleles of the same gene being mixed.

Eye color is more complicated than just dominant/recessive. There's several genetic factors that affect it.
