All 3 games have had remakes in Japan with upgraded graphics and gameplay but they insist on just porting the original game boy versions

When did they get remade? And did the remakes get localised?

They were remade years ago. No they remain Japanese only

If I remember right Saga 1 was remade on a Japanese only hand held made by Bandai called the Wonder Swan Color

I think Saga 2 got a DS remake and Saga 3 either also was remade on the DS or it might have been the 3ds

I have the original Gameboy carts, pretty decent games

SaGa (FFL) 2 and 3 both have DS remakes that are pretty good. SaGa 2 is pretty faithful to the original with a bunch of additions. The gameplay in 3 is completely redone to make it more in line with the SaGa series rather than the very generic vanilla gameplay of the original. Both have fan translations, I recommend both games to jRPG fans, not only are they solid games, they're also pretty gentle entry points to the SaGa series.

Agreed with TC, though. This connection feels pretty lazy. Just go for the ports of RS2 and RS3, and if you want more SaGa on console, go with Scarlet Grace.
