its more of a Walmart thing

there is very much an attitude at Walmart to just put shit on the shelves no matter what it is because people are going to buy it. It doesnt even make sense sometimes but if you put it on a shelf someone is gonna walk out with it within a few days

despite that sometimes old stuff builds up in the back of stores because employees arent sure what to do with it, but periodically a manager will insist that everything should go out to fill shelves, and since a lot of that stuff pretty much fell through the cracks and has been forgotten, it has an old outdated price

now if someone used their head they would discount an item like this down to $5 or something, but most of the workers dont give a fuck and no one expects them to

It does, however when I worked there a few years ago it had to be the exact same item and condition(new vs used, exact same sku, etc) and from a local store, or website but had to be sold and shipped by that website(no ebay, no amazon marketplace).

I am sure you could find a brand new copy of cory in the house online for $5 from a list of approved sites.

I'm not sure how you buy a game at Walmart. Last time I was there the boxes were tethered to the shelves. I was going to ask an employee about it but couldn't find one.

its sad but it is what it is. they've got it down to 1-2 people working in electronics, photo, toys and sporting goods, and they do like to tether games to the shelves.

its bizarre how understaffed they keep their stores, at least around the time I quit(understaffing the THE reason i quit)

I remember my Wal-Mart having a 32MB SD card in one of those enormous anti theft packages (with and anti theft wrap around it) for some outrageous sum, approaching $100 if I recall, laying right next to hundreds of unsecured 32gig or more cards that where probably under $20 at back to school time.
