Someone made a post about him being the best Joker and I was like... damn, I think that's actually accurate! But it made me realize how much I like The Shining and how that movie will always be super sinister because of all the subliminal tricks Kubrick did in editing to make it super creepy.

What are yalls favorite movies with him? Or least favorite?

He's one of my favorite actors in general. He's my favorite Joker because he's both sinister and a goofy clown. Other movies/media kinda forget the clown part besides the look. Batman 89 is my favorite Batman movie and maybe my favorite of Nicholson's despite all the great movies he was in.

The Shining is one of the very few horror movies I like. Great movie. The while movie has an unsettling vibe to it.

Ok seriously, can you tell me in your own words, what makes this movie worthy of a second viewing?

I think he was miscast in The Shining. He removes any sympathy you might have for Jack because he's so clearly unstable from the beginning.

Yeah they definitely made the characters more 2 dimensional when in comparison to the book. Maybe they were worried they couldn't portray that extra depth within the timeframe of a movie.

lol yall are making me feel dumb for genuinely trusting Nicholson in the first 30 minutes of the movie. Idk, I think he sold it pretty well.

I dont think he was meant to be portrayed as sympathetic in the slightest. From the git he comes off as a cocky asshole with a very smug aura. Then you get some backstory on how he was an abusive drunk who targets women and young kids. And if you believe the theories, hes a rapist pedo as well.
