its mk8 with double item boxes and battle mode. which is fun, but not worth putting hundreds of hours in. it will always be a good party game though and i don't see a new mario kart happening soon

If you've already had your fill of the Wii U version of MK8, then you won't get much mileage--no pun intended--out of Deluxe, since it's the same game with a few more racers, double items, and a proper Battle Mode. There are no new tracks, and all the racers are unlocked by default.
