Been really into this particular genre and all its various subgenres recently. Share whatever you like as long as it's at least a little shoegaze-y

Candy Claws - White Seal

Sweet Trip - Air Supply

Apparently there are a ton of Japanese shoegaze bands, I've just barely scraped the surface on that front

Plastic Girl in Closet - Rabbit House

That first one sounds very aggressive for shoegaze.

This album flies under the radar a lot:

I'm trying to find old threebeams articles. Threebeams was the best damn music journalism ever, so of course they didn't last long, but they were in deep on all the underground scenes. China had a big shoegaze revival around 2017, so I'll let you know if I find what I'm looking for.

Also, also, everything from Caribou, Dan Snaith's shoegaze project, is about as shoegaze as it gets, at least before 2014.

I've always thought Amusement Parks on Fire was underrated. Their debut/S/T and early stuff is great, but what got me hooked was their second LP album Out of the Angeles. Hell of an opening track on that one:

There's also a solo artist that goes by Tamaryn with a rotating backing lineup that's more dream poppy, but it's the original guitarist that blows me away. This is the performance that made me want to buy a Gibson SG and a fuckton of effects pedals (skip to 13:20 if the link doesn't work):

I've got plenty more in my catalog, I fell in love with shoegaze and dream pop over a decade ago lol

That's my favorite too. That's the one in that live KEXP set I posted, but with that shiny studio polish

Saw Slowdive at a festival in 2017, that was great. Probably the only shoegaze band I still listen to regularly. I love Cocteau Twins and obviously they were an influence on the sound, same for The Jesus and Mary Chain.

MBV can be abrasive at times, but Kevin Shields and his guitar playing make me musically horny. A real pain the ass to try and play though, he's like Sonic Youth with all their fucked up tunings. I've broken at least one string trying to match the tuning of a tab
