Why can't they set these places up similar to grocery stores where they have public health measures in place and it's safe?

You can have

  • Masks
  • Distancing
  • Plexiglass if needed
  • More polling locations to spread people out more
  • Add more days for the polling to spread people out more
What's the problem with this

Why waste the money if your state is already equipped to do mail in voting?

Conservatives saying that requiring a mask is trampling on their rights and preventing them from voting and causing a scene and attacking people.

Also Republicans would never allow for more days or more polling locations. They don't like people having easier access to vote.

Is this one or two people or a significant percentage of them

I would say at least 70% of all conservatives would cry.

My state is already backing down from having all the usual polling locations due to lack of volunteers to staff each one

Kentucky had 1 polling place for over six hundred thousand people during the primaries so I'd say it's a lot of them. It's not the only state cutting polling places either.

Edit: the places they cut polling stations from have mostly demacrats in them.

I'm curious to see what kind of shit my area gets up to this year. They were already closing places with with no notice in the 2018 midterm elections (a big one for Texas) and for the primary, changed to new machines that were supposedly problematic (though my experience was okay).

If I can work from home, I can vote from home. The mail seems to be good enough for all other government correspondence.

The Trump rally in a stadium, that biker rally, how many people does that add up to?
