Never seen Predators or the AvP films, so I guess if I vote it'll be for The Predator.

Again, the inclusion of AVP, and Requiem in particular makes this easy. Without them I feel there is a good match between Predator 2, which is just bad (and also led to AVP IIRC) and The Predator, the worst Shane Black film by a very long way.

Predator 2 just had a Xenomorph skull as a trophy in one scene as an easter egg of sorts, referencing the then-recently released Alien vs. Predator comics. The AvP films are ambiguously canon to the Predator films at best.

I thought The Predator was okay enough when I first saw it on release (got a cheap ticket due to seeing it as part of a college society), but when I watched the original again about a year later boy did I understand where the hate was coming from. Oh boy do I understand. And reflecting on it now, wow did Shane Black have weird ideas for what direction he wanted to take the series in. People were heavily anticipating this movie because of Black's involvement in the original film, and then we got...whatever this is. The Predators were apparently collecting DNA the whole time, not just taking trophies. A Predator was carrying some device to help humans fight off an alien invasion...but still went around massacring people anyway. Said device is a single Iron Man suit which is supposed to help fight back an invasion single-handedly. Autism is the next step in human evolution. A real sex offender's scenes were hastily cut which resulted in the deletion of Olivia Munn's introduction. The entire third act was reshot. What a disaster. Still think the action and visuals were cool for most of the movie but that alone isn't enough - and the last hour of the movie might be one of the worst things I've ever seen.

The original film is brilliant. The second one isn't bad but being set in a city just doesn't really work. The train scene is good though.

Even critical reception stunk this time. Though judging by how Predator fans speak so negatively of it you wouldn't believe it has an RT score above 30%, higher than stuff like Batman v. Superman, Suicide Squad, Venom, and Dark Phoenix.

Voted original AvP. I actually think The Predator is pretty damn entertaining. There are plot points that dont really make any sense, but the cast has good chemistry and theyre like a bunch of funny guys just fucking around with each other.

So whats this boards thoughts on Predator 2 vs Predators? I havent seen Predators.

That's kind of how I felt the first time I saw it. Expect nothing less from the writer of Lethal Weapon though.

Predators is actually good. It's easily 2nd best in the franchise.

AVP1 sucks as a predator movie. Like more so than any of the others. At least you can kinda they tried to do predator things in Requiem. Even if the movie sucks worse.

The Predator also kinda sucks.
