A friend of mine recently had pipes that went bad and the repair job was $5000 and I rather avoid that if possible. I have no problems whatsoever, but the place has been around since 84 and I figured I should have them inspected? Will plumbers do that without an actual problem to address?

I'm sure you could find one who is willing to take your money just to look around.

You did indeed stab me in the back. However, you are only level one, whilst I am level 50. That means I should remain uninjured.

Yeah, the only reason one would say no would be because they are booked solid with jobs to do.

you could also hire a home inspector to look around, they'll be able to see more than a plumber could

I feel like a lot of people could save a lot of money if they knew how to plumb themselves.

We just bought the place a few months ago and had an inspection actually. They said it looked good. What advantage does a Home Inspector have over a Plumber?

Right but plumbing is seriously one of the easiest to learn.

I can understand not wanting to do your own electrical but plumbing is stupidly easy.

Like installing a sink or toilet is pretty easy, but it gets a bit tricky after that (and you likely don't have the tools)

I mean it's not like a plumber is going to go into your wall and look at all the pipes, basically if it's for a "check up" both people are going to see the same things. Home inspector can look at foundation issues, roofing, status of under your house, all of the things a plumber would see and more.

so if you just got an inspection you're almost definitely fine.
