Maybe we could try actually doing something about the virus like literally every other first world country minus Sweden. It would be better for the economy in the long run to deal with it as quickly as possible.

I'd do some research if you think a vaccine, if it even comes out, that comes out this winter or early next year is going to eradicate this virus. The experts are saying even with a vaccine this might take a decade to eradicate.

Lots of people, indirectly. They want them closed until there aren't going to be outbreaks. Even with just a few cases you can get a big outbreak from these group settings.

Right - this is the problem I see with you Americans. You're on one side of the extreme or the other. You've got people calling for indefinite lock downs, "everything closed until the miracle vaccine gets here in 6 months and saves us all", telling people to shut society down but with no indication of when you'd reopen it. Then on the other side you have people who just say fuck it, ignore all the public health measures and do whatever the fuck they want.

Where's the middle ground? You're either sending society back into the stone ages until a cure is here or acting like it doesn't exist basically. That's why your country is screwing up their response.

The lockdowns started in late March to mid April depending on your location. People had all this time to get tested and self quarantine to slow the spread, but making money for rich people and corporations were too important. Now instead of minimizing the spread of the virus, we have to deal with the long term repercussions.

What misinformation am I spreading? People are refuting my points with insults, ad-hominem attacks etc. They don't have any arguments. You know deep down there isn't going to be a miracle vaccine that eradicates this virus in 6 months. You can't lock everything down with no plan until 'the virus is gone' and we're back in the stone ages (and the virus still won't be gone by the way). I'm pro face masks in indoor settings where you can't distance. I just wore one today. But it's also a fantasy that this will eradicate the virus. We've had mandatory face covering laws where I live for a few weeks now and the cases have not gone down they've remained stagnant.
