Nobody would give half a shit if he hadn't lied about it. Every president would have been hustled to safety in that situation, and rightly so. But only one of them would have lied about it happening.

2. he was not in danger then and he is not in danger tonight. as I said in another topic, no crowd of normal citizens could ever breach the white house. it's the most well defended fortress on the planet. it would take an army of soldiers with guns, and grenades and rpg's and tanks and missiles and shit.

The saddest part is that any president with even a modicum of public aplomb and leadership ability could have gone to the bunker and turned it into a positive. Any reasonably intelligent high schooler could write up a speech about how we've gone too far and we need to come together as a nation and figure out a way we can live without violence that forces people to go into hiding to avoid being hurt. But, no, this is America.

that is defended too. you never seen 24? there was a season where they had to flee the white house through the tunnels underneath. it has defenses too. its not like there aren't guards down there. and gates and barriers of all kinds and check points. every manner in which you could enter the white house has been thought of, and is guarded. just cause you don't SEE the sewers does not mean there isn't a shit ton of guards down there at all times

Could almost understand if he was making any kind of attempt to de-escalate the situation. Instead he stirred shit up from his Twitter account and then hid like a bitch. And then made up a pitiful excuse to keep up a tough guy persona that no one with brain cells believes anymore.

Eh, its not that he went into the bunker. Its that he did so in the most over the top manner possible (complete with turning off ALL the visible lights, something that traditionally only happens when the president has died), and then felt it made him look so weak that he had to lie about it to boot.
