Why not make planes that never stop and you build this tall platform where it picks up and unloads a pod with the ppl who arrives and depart.

It sounds like a stupid question, but really this concept could work with sufficient worldbuilding.

If you have a long enough arm catching the container, and the arm hinges properly, you won't get lethal acceleration when you get picked up.

Now there's a whole slew of other problems (how do you unload, clear the path, etc) but in theory it could work.

Your question is Why dont we build thousands of platforms up to the height that planes fly, put hundreds of people on each, then purposefully fly planes at these platforms?, is that correct?
