Man this Yakuza arc feels like Filler but I also know that can't be the case

so I never thought much of Red Riot, I don't like Kacchan, hes a fucking piece of shit with no redeeming factors

so like, imagine HIS SIDEKICK

but man, RR is MUCH better on his own. Holy shit. I'm super impressed

I thought Fat Gum was gonna be another Pig God, but he was cool too. Other than a few food puns, they don't play up the "Fat guy" thing very much and that was a little refreshing

Double wanting to bang Anime Harley Quinn is weird, he reminds me of SHINE

Deku was definitely overshadowed this arc

actually now that I think about it, I know why I don't like it. I'll just disclaimer it first and say its personal and probably not the best reasons

I don't like how the singer speeds up and slows down singing the words

the first line of the song is okay

I WILL say

:25-:35 is probably the best part of the song by far

but it immediately loses momentum by slowing down by the music fading out

The first ending for Season 4 is my favorite (the Eri ending I guess)

also this isn't the first time I've heard the yakuza arc described as filler. It's not! It's also the best the series has ever been.

Overhaul arc is some top quality shonen. I actually stopped reading shortly after that but it doesn't sound like I've missed more than one good arc since if the folks I've been talking to are to be believed lol

agreed that OP 4 isn't good. OP 1 is decently catchy but OP 2 (Peace Sign) is by far my favorite and the only one I really like. who cares about the openings though when you could just listen to you say run instead though

Hell yeah.

Im not going to say flashbacking doesnt slow it down some, tbh I think All Might v AFO also had a few too many in the anime; in comic form talking while fighting isnt as obtrusive; each panel can have bubbles and actions, so the fight never feels like it stops..

Really only the first Nomu fight avoided that pitfall possibly by just letting AM and Nomu bash at each other a bit more. Its a common Shonen pitfall.

Still a great arc.

She's 22 now, but she was 21 during the arc in question.

Also they've been working together for 6 years, and she has graduated junior high at the point of finding him. 15 + 6 = 21, which is exactly what they list it as.

Yeah, she was in the first year of middle school when she confessed and became a recluse. Neither the anime or manga did a good job of showing that she withdrew from society for almost ten years though, since she barely aged. I mean, I literally only found out right now in this topic.

EDIT: Oh, she was working with Gentle that long? Didn't get that either.

Actually, I guess they haven't necessarily worked together for an entire 6 years. It's just been 6 years since Gentle started, and she found him online a month after he started. I forget if they immediately started working together then.

In the anime, La Brava does briefly mentions how long they were working together. I think it's like one line somewhere and is never mentioned again. I want to say it was when she was complaining that they've been at this for years and still get no hits on their videos but I'm not 100% on that.

Oh it's certainly not perfect. Even being 15 with Gentle being 26 is sketchy but Gentle treats the partnership as more of a mentor role. Her being obsessed with him isn't the healthiest but I think he deals with that in a productive way.

To be fair I don't remember Gentle ever reciprocating her attraction. It might have happened, but if it did it's not shown.

He did turn her into a criminal though, which is not as bad as being a pedo but is still bad.

But the manga/show does address that.
